We The People A campaign commissioned by The Amplifier Foundation Artist: Shepard Fairey

This campaign includes some posters made by Shepard Fairey, the same artist who made the iconic 'HOPE' poster during Barack Obama's presidential campaign in 2008.

These posters really stood out for me, not only because the way they look, but the also for the way they got distributed. These powerful posters got printed on full pages in The Washington Post, thanks to a Kickstarter that raised enough money to do this. This way a lot of people had access to the posters and use them for demonstrations. All they had to do was rip it out of the newspaper. Because of this, it becomes very clear that this campaign is about and for the community. It isn't about the artist or the organisation, it's about the people.

I think this is what gives these posters a special feeling. The combination of the minority's that are pictured on the posters, the simple but powerful words written on it, and the way they are shared with the people is really special in my opinion.

This project is alo relational and subversive.
