From Beyond Social

bonjour

I am a concept designer, photographer, and researcher. I am a social designer, concerned with current societal issues, like feminism, health, and sustainability.

I like to tackle serious issues, while rendering those in an implicit way, rather than explicit.

As a concept designer, I love to think of concepts to bring people together, connect people, and allow an exchange of ideas between different groups of people. As a photographer, I love to show the poetry in life, and to focus on details to offer an abstract view on the world. As a researcher, I love to learn new theories, which I can use to understand our present society better, and establish new connections. I also love to question established structures and power relations.

I am an altruistic person and designer. I don’t necessarily want to bring solutions, but instead, trigger reflection and change.

I am sensitive to music, photography, philosophy, art, fashion, good conversations, and interior design.

Subjects that fascinate me are the woman body, health, (mental) wellbeing, sexuality, ethics, gender roles, holistic care, self-love, power and control, sustainability, and feminism.

My goal as a designer is to inspire self-love, self-awareness and (inner) peace, to unveil the truth, the sharing of knowledge, to trigger my audience to think about things and question them, to offer a heightened knowledge, to bring social cohesion, and to show the beauty in life.

I want to inspire all of these things, because I believe that it is important for us to reconnect with ourselves in a society that is demanding, fast-moving and evolving quickly. A sense of self-love helps to stay grounded, and to face the unknowns and dilemmas of our society. To see the beauty and poetry in life is to grasp on to positivity. And I believe above all that a healthy society, is a healthy earth. Having self-love enables us to share it with others and use it for other things, such as the earth, who needs it so much.

I do aspire to shake up some aspects of our society.
