A new settlement

This is a project about Congolese plantation workers who made sculptured out of chocolate. The idea behind it is that an artist can make art about poverty, but it would be way better if poor people can make art about their own stories and can make money instead of the artist. That is what this hole project is about. Renzo Martens directed the people but he highlighted that they are the artist he was only in the position to realize this project.


The main reason why this project is so good is that he is actually saying that there is really something wrong with art that has critics on inequality in the world but that the art world works the same way. For example an exhibition from refuge
